Anyone who enjoys shopping and history will enjoy this unique shopping mall, located within the metro transit itself, making it an ideal location for visitors staying in subway hotels. Forum des Halles was originally the largest area of shopping in Paris, and thrived for over three centuries. Eventually, however, the area was simply not large enough, and it was vacated completely. To fill in the space, the Parisian government turned the “hole of Halles” into a beautiful park. However, there is much more underground, with an underground shopping center accessible from the metro line.

If you enjoy this shopping center and historical site, you will probably also enjoy other locations accessible by the same metro line, and from this metro station. Champs Elysees hotels are conveniently located near the newer shopping districts, as well as many museums such as the Paris Grand Palais. You will also find easy access to many other historical monuments and squares, such as the Place de Concorde where Marie Antoinette was beheaded, and the Triumphal Arch erected by Napoleon Bonaparte to commemorate a victory with his vast and successful army. You can learn more about the Forum des Halles and many other historical sites in Paris by visiting any Paris France blog.
